> The Dasein project <

This project is a modest exploration of embodied interaction as a medium for distant interpersonal communication.

We aim to investigate the use of body gestures and simple objects in communication from afar.

The three main questions we raised:

Can we use embodied interaction as a satisfying, fulfilling form of remote communication ?

Would interaction of body and object empower people to create a new kind of messages ?

Could communicated unpredictability enrich our individual experience of distant communication?

The Dasein project, initiated as part of a Strategic Design class (led by Prof's Jan-Christoph Zoels, Jay Melican) at the IDII, is only at a preliminary stage, and so are the thoughts and prototypes introduced. We shell update this site as we go along.
